The winning bidder will have his/her choice of dinner for 10 at one of San Francisco’s hottest spots, Spruce, or the Woodside favorite, The Village Pub, each featuring a five-course personalized menu prepared by the chef. This package includes two very special bottles of Cheval Blanc 1986 to be enjoyed by the winner, as a complement to this dinner or for any other occasion. 7. Chairman’s Lot #1 – Château Mouton Rothschild
Six Bottles – Château Mouton Rothschild Bordeaux’s Mouton Rothschild is classified as a first growth (or Premier Cru) wine. Among the six wines classifed as first growths, the Mouton generally ranks among the top three. For Bordeaux, Parker typically described 1982 as the best vintage since 1945 and rated Mouton 100 points; 1986 is generally rated a classic, as is the 1988. And the 1989 is indisputably a classic, receiving 100 points from both Robert Parker and the Wine Spectator. Two of the best vintages from the 90s are included in this lot: 1990 and 1995. This vertical was purchased directly from the winemaker and stored by the buyer in a temperature-controlled cellar. The bottles have excellent “fills” and the labels are in very good condition. 8. Chairman’s Lot #2 – Château Margaux Six Bottles – Château Margaux Château Margaux is another of Bordeaux’s first growth-classified estates. Margaux is sometimes described as “the first lady of Bordeaux with iron fists cloaked in velvet gloves.” In this special Margaux lot, several of the bottles have been rated 100 by Robert Parker. How to choose between the Mouton and Margaux lots? Bid on them both! This vertical was purchased directly from the winemaker and stored by the buyer in a temperature-controlled cellar.
