Interplast is a highly efficient nonprofit, with 90 percent of our budget going directly to medical programs that change lives. 
Interplast relies on donated medical supplies, equipment and talent so that every $1 contributed to Interplast is leveraged into $3 of medical care. The organization's work is humanitarian in nature; no political or religious affiliations are maintained, and no financial support is solicited from government agencies. Interplast is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit service provider, with IRS nonprofit identification #23-7297770. All charitable contributions are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. With the community's generosity and support for nearly 40 years, we have provided more than 68,000 reconstructive surgeries and thousands of doctors with hands-on training and educational workshops that build medical access in underserved communities across the globe. Every year, Interplast receives an independent audit of its financial statements and operations in compliance with the California Nonprofit Integrity Act. In addition, Interplast files a Form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service annually. Moreover, Interplast’s financials and operations are reviewed each year for its continuing membership with InterAction, the largest alliance of U.S.-based international development and humanitarian NGOs; InterAction’s standards address programmatic performance, fundraising and financial management. Despite its excellent rating, Interplast believes Charity Navigator’s ranking of nonprofit organizations tells only part of the story. Charity Navigator’s methodology measures only cash donations. Interplast depends greatly on donated medical services from our volunteer doctors, as well as donated medical supplies from many health care corporations. While these donated goods and services account for 67 percent of Interplast’s total revenue, Charity Navigator measures only cash donations in determining how well an organization is run.
